About The Club

The 1066 Archery Club was formerly known as The Hawkhurst Hundred Archery Club, which was formed in 1985 and since then the club progressed with a number of members gaining county records, some of which still stand.

Craigan Hyde-Barnett took over the chair in 1993, 2 years after joining the club with his wife Ann. Both Craigan and Ann are qualified coaches.

The club has gone through various traumas in recent years, the loss of some of our most experienced archers and the loss of our original grounds at Hall House. After many moves we have found the perfect site at Pickhill Farm, Smallhythe Road, Tenterden, Kent, TN30 7LZ.

This has not been easy however, we spent many months negotiating with Ashford Planning office proving we were not Robin Hoods shooting arrows all over the place.

We have secured a three year lease with the owners, with positive signs that we will be able renew again and again.

We would welcome any experienced archers, Recurve, Long Bow, Flat bow or Compound.

We are always seeking new members and there will be a warm welcome to both experienced and novice archers at our regular Saturday morning shoot.
